There's a touch of reduction at first, giving a touch of rubber, but as that blows of, the pure dark-red fruits are singing and there's a hint of Chambolle's archetypal floral perfume. Beautifully scented. This seems to have all the best traits of 2019: glorious fruit, ripe, fresh and open. Tannins are polished and still giving a firm structure for the fruit. Fresh even with the ripeness of fruit. Long, juicy and moreish finish. (JH)"
